Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, is convinced London is “the safest global city in the world.”
“I can’t follow 400 people,” answered Khan, before listing budget cuts as a rationale for these potential killers to be on the loose, unfollowed.
Yeah, that’s not going to instill confidence in anyone.
Khan has previously passed up opportunities to crack down on radical Muslims in both word and deed. In September, the Muslim mayor famously stated that terrorism was “part and parcel of life in a big city.”
Most recently, Khan told the people of London there’s “no reason to be alarmed” over a massive police presence following the gruesome Saturday night attack, which left seven dead and nearly 50 others injured. This reaction was mocked by President Donald Trump via Twitter, who seemingly took Khan’s reaction out of context.
One thing is certain though, #PrayFor[InsertAttackedCityHere] hashtags, mantras of love and not-all-Muslims chants are not solving the problem of Islamism. If Khan and other officials continue to refuse to face this threat head-on, we will sadly continue to see bloodshed in the streets of London.
